The Richmond County Orchestra presents "Concerto di Natale"
This year, the RCO continues its traditional Holiday Concert with Staten Island's newest Lesko Ballet's Nutcracker! featuring soprano Simona Rodano, The Brighton Heights Youth Orchestra, St Cecilia Chorus, Dragon Kim's Karate USA, and Maestro Alan Aurelia conducting the Richmond County Orchestra. This event is FREE for all students and children.
Within the enchanting realm of the Lesko Ballet Academy on Staten Island, a profound understanding takes root, ballet is not solely reserved for those who yearn to make it their life's calling. Our philosophy is rooted in fostering holistic development for all our students, placing it at the forefront of our educational journey. Nurturing harmonious growth becomes our paramount objective, serving as the guiding light that illuminates every facet of our school.
Born and raised in Torino, Piemonte, Italy, Simona discovered her passion for singing at age six and became an accomplished international singer, actress, songwriter, director, author, and entrepreneur. Her remarkable performances have occurred at Carnegie Hall in New York, USA.
The Brighton Heights Reformed Church Youth Orchestra is a youth orchestra in Staten Island, New York, led by conductor Yvette Washington Wheatley. Some say that Washington Wheatley is a "child whisperer" who helps children learn more than just how to read music. She also helps them learn how to work together as a community and deal with challenges.
For 125 years, the St. Cecilia Society, the boroughs oldest musical organization, has encouraged and supported women on Staten Island and their love of music.
Founded in 1998, The Richmond County Orchestra brings professional presentations of the classical arts to the Greater Staten Island Community. RCO has performed in Carnegie Hall, The Guggenheim, Jewish Heritage Museums & Washington Square Park.
