HERO Theatre announces the world premiere of Luzmi by Diana Burbano, performing October 4-27, 2024, at The Rosenthal Theater at Inner-City Arts in Los Angeles. Luzmi, directed by HERO Theatre Producing Artistic Director Elisa Bocanegra, marks the U.S. premiere of HERO Theatre and HERO Multimedia's Nuestro Planeta, a new works commissioning initiative centered around environmental justice research in Latine countries and how Latine families are directly affected by climate change.
In this play, we join Luzmi as she travels back to her family's homeland of Colombia after her mother's passing. Through her informative and often comedic travels, she discovers the healing power of nature and the deeper meaning of returning "home."
