NYWW PITCH CONFERENCE SPRING 2021: SAT-SUN, MAY 7 - 8
New York Writers Workshop hosts pitch conferences in New York City. The conferences, offered twice yearly, in the spring and fall, welcome writers of fiction, nonfiction, and Children's and YA with book-length manuscripts (or projects).

With the guidance of New York Writers Workshop faculty, participants polish their pitches on Day One, then present them to three different editors from major publishing houses such as Random House, Viking/Penguin, St. Martin's, etc. Editors provide feedback and may request proposals and manuscripts after the conference.
Conferences feature a panel discussion of literary agents on Sunday morning.

On Saturday, NYWW instructors assist participants in shaping their pitches in the most appealing and compelling manner as possible. On Sunday, writers attend a panel of NYC-based literary agents discussing the market from their perspectives. In the afternoon, they meet with editors from the large commercial houses (such as Random House, Viking/Penguin, St. Martin's). The conference provides opportunity, plus insight into publishing realities as seen from the editor's side of the desk. The conference also creates, builds, and sustains writing communities.
This conference is held entirely on Zoom; participants will be sent Zoom invitations the week of the conference. |
