ASME STS - Presents - "Government Corruption of Science"
Topic Summary:
What is Weather vs. Climate ? What about a Theory vs. a Model ? What is Science ? Can there be any unbiased research sponsored by government or industry? No easy answers.
Federal money often allows unelected and protected civil service bureaucrats to control scientific research. Dictating the projects and outcomes is not Science. Bureaucrats want scary predictions from scientists that they can use to gain power, prestige, and importance - and then use our tax money to pay for them. Private research is derided as biased, even though every government bureaucrat also has an agenda.
