Simeys Shadow, a comedy in three acts, written by P.G. ODea and directed by Sandy Hanrahan, is packed with hijinks and hilarity. Andy and Tessie are fond of each other but based on Andys mistaken belief that as a poor farmer he could never offer Tessie the kind of future he believes she deserves he begins to evade her. That doesnt stop Tessies frequent visits to his home, but due to Andys inexplicable coldness, Tessie is left talking with Andys two bachelor uncles. Each of them gets the notion that she has a matrimonial interest in him and they become rivals for her hand in matrimony. Now add the wants and desires of Tessies mother and Andys housekeeper and the shenanigans run rampant. Lots of buffoonery and a bit of camouflaged canoodlin ensue. Time: 1950s Ireland
