A Christmas Carol - A Musical Storybook
In a year when almost nothing has seemed normal, we all are craving the hope and joyful anticipation of the holidays. And we all know how much music means to us during both good and not-so-good times.
With in-person concerts postponed indefinitely, this year Media Chamber Chorale members-- from both the local area and across the country!-- have adapted to virtual rehearsal and recording, and we have created a delightful online holiday program: A Christmas Carol - A Musical Storybook.
Presented as a live YouTube event, this dramatic performance of A Christmas Carol includes holiday choral repertoire and familiar Christmas songs. Chorale members perform the voice acting for the narrators and characters in the traditional story.
The script is based on the abridged version created by Charles Dickens himself, for his own public readings. You may never have heard the Christmas Carol story told as Dickens originally intended! Illustrations from the late 1800s and early 1900s, as well as drawings by local artist Erin Witzel, are featured to enhance the listening experience.
Access to this event is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.
