What Stands Between Us- Racism Workshop with Patrick Johnson
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The purpose of this workshop is to raise our awareness about the impact racism has in our lives even when we may not be conscious of it. We will also examine how present racism is in all areas of our life. We will explore what it means to be White, Black, Asian, and Latinx and talk about our experiences given the racial identities that we hold and what stands between us because of race. Although many would say that race relations have gotten better in America, what are the unresolved issues that keep us disconnected? This workshop will provide an opportunity for any participant to share their experiences and concerns and have an authentic conversation; one that is intended to be enriching and insightful. It's also just fine to listen and learn from others. This workshop is open to anyone over 10, but there is much violence involved in racism both historically and currently, conversations may touch on that, please use your own judgement in bringing your children.
