1:1 Solo | A Walk Towards The Sun, The Moon, and the Stars
**Postponed until further notice. Updates coming soon.

A Walk Towards The Sun, The Moon, and the Stars is a solo performance designed for one individual at a time and intended as an inimitable offering, a ritual, and an inquiry into what is essential. This 1:1 solo creates an intimate, personalized and collaborative performance experience involving being lead and cared for, and a witnessing that brings forth an unfolding adaptation in real time. Together we look into a series of existential questions around humanity, and the ways we are connection/disconnected to one another. The performances weaves filmic, sonic and corporeal togetherness coaxing intimacy and self- realization through embodied reflection.

About Alia Swersky:

As a movement artist, Swersky sees the world through the lens of the physical form, committing herself fully to the inherent activism of inhabiting the sensate body. She is a pillar in the improvisational dance community. She was a long time Co-Artistic Director of Dance Art Group (DAG), which curated the Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation. Currently she collaborates with musician Tom Baker on: Body.Space.Time.Sound, experiments in sound and movement performance, held bi-annually at the Chapel Performance Center. Her work has been presented at many Seattle venues including Open Flight, On The Boards, Velocity and Base. Swersky holds a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts and has been teaching, performing, and creating work in Seattle since 1998. She toured nationally and internationally with the LeGendre Performance Group and has collaborated with many Seattle luminaries including The Maureen Whiting Company, KT Niehoff, Salt Horse and Wade Madsen. She has been on faculty at Cornish College of the Arts since 2005 as a pivotal educator in the dance departments creative process curriculum.
