Felted, Sculpted Hat Workshop with Flóra Carlile-Kovács
Join us at the Whatcom Museum to make a felted, sculpted hat in this day-long workshop taught by noted felt artist Flóra Carlile-Kovács. Felting is an age-old process, but one that can still be used today to create beautiful, modern forms. Participants will bring a 2-D pattern to life, learning techniques for shaping different brims and designs.
Flóra Carlile-Kovács is a felt artist based in Seattle, WA. With this ancient textile technique, she has created a tremendous variety of 2-D and 3-D pieces, from sculptures to rugs to clothes. Flóra has been sharing her knowledge by teaching various felting classes for nearly 15 years.
Coffee and light snacks will be provided, as well as a one-hour lunch break. Maximum class size is 7 people.
Price: $100 Museum members/$120 non-members (price includes $20 materials fee)
