Bach on Theorbo
Musica Maestrale presents:: Bach on Theorbo
Musica Maestrale's Hideki Yamaya will perform his own transcriptions for theorbo of Bach's Suites for Unaccompanied Cello Nos. 1 and 2. While written specifically for a bowed, (primarily) single-voice instrument, these masterpieces get a fresh, new approach being performed on a plucked, multi-voice instrument, making the implied harmonies of Bach very explicit.
Musica Maestrale is trying out a new, intimate venue for this concert: The 2509 (2509 NE Clackamas St.) Seating is limited to 50.
