Come join the backcountry ski community to celebrate the coming of winter with photo and video presentations from some of the hardest working trail breakers around. Enjoy a cold beer, inspirational images and tall tales from adventures in the Wasatch and beyond.
Presentations include: -Former Powderwhore turned ski mountaineer Noah Howell will be recounting his 29 hour odyssey on the 11,000 foot ski descent of the Archangel Ridge in the Central Alaska Range from last spring.
-For the past 25 years local Park City skier Darrell Finlayson has commited to skiing at least one day per month. That's right he's skied 300 months in a row without missing a turn. Come along for the ride as he shares the ups and downs of this amazing feat.
--Clay James and Cody Hughes do some tag team reporting on their escapades of biking all the way to Alaska from Salt Lake City with all their gear and then climbing and skiing/snowboarding Denali from the Muldrow Glacier. Yes, you read that correctly!
-Photographer and skier Mary McIntyre spent some time exploring the remote and mysterious Mount Rishiri in the Sea of Japan which harbors some of the longest ski lines in Japan as well as some of the most horrendous weather.
No ski event would be complete without a huge gear raffle and the Slide Show is no exception! Help support the Utah Avalanche Center and Wasatch Backcountry Alliance and win products from top backcountry brands including Black Diamond, Flylow, Scarpa, Julbo, Jaybird, Goal Zero, Skimo.co, Mystery Ranch, Osprey, Kuhl, Voile and more.
