We are so grateful to everyone who has helped us make Love Always, Mom possible. We are excited to share the film with the MOMS Club of Silver Lake. Thank you for being such a supportive group of Mamas to Grayson & I. My Friends typically say they thought they knew the whole story until they see my film. This is the story of how I became a Mom after a stage 4 cancer diagnosis. Spoiler alert y'all know it ends happily. ;) |

LOVE ALWAYS, MOM is a film that speaks to anyone and everyone with a dream and inspires us to never give up. Written, produced, and directed by Trish Gonnella Russo and Craig E. Shapiro. This film could not have been created without the generous support of many Los Angeles natives. Filmed over the course of 3 years and featuring the work of Angeleos: Alex Flores (music supervisor), Bryan Senti (composer), Leandra Dichirico (sound recordist). Some scenes filmed in Los Angeles and the film was workshopped at Soho House West Hollywood in the past. We took the notes and ran. If you attended the workshop cut this is a very different film! After a film festival run, we're excited to return to share the finished film and to raise funds for cancer research and a family building grant!
In 2018 LOVE ALWAYS, MOM won the Audience Award at its World Premiere at Geena Davis' Bentonville Film Festival and Best Documentary at the Catalina Film Festival. In 2019 it won Best Documentary awards at the Nevada Women's Film Festival in Las Vegas and the Maryland International Film Festival. It has also been an official selection of DTLA Film Festival in Los Angeles and the Silicon Valley International Film Festival in San Francisco.
It tells the tale of a stage 4 cancer survivor and her husband's controversial decision to have a child using an egg donor and a surrogate. With laughter and tears, we witness a mothers love letter to her unborn child and a never before seen look into cancer and infertility.
The Echo Park screening is $5 to help cover the costs of food & wine served. Any additional donations/proceeds from the evening the 501(c)3 non-profit Trish created to fund the film will split evenly between METAvivor, an organization that puts 100% of donations towards cancer research and a family-building grant to be awarded annually to a cancer survivor to assist in building a family. Arrivals & wine served between 7:30-8 PM. The film will roll starting 8 PM and runs 95 minutes. 9:30-10:30 PM we'll have a book-club-style post screening dialogue. This event is also for non-SLMC members so please feel free to bring your friends.
After this Los Angeles screening, LOVE ALWAYS MOM will screen in Pittsburgh, PA on Wednesday, October 9th, Charleston, SC on Saturday, October 12th, and Millburn, NJ on Tuesday, October 15th. Check out www.cyangray.org for trailer and links to tix via Instagram
