Join Rev Tor & Friends for a live performance of Paul Simons Graceland Album. The melding of South African styles and Simon's trademark sensibility made for one of the most intriguing albums (not to mention commercial hits) of the '80s. Lively, thoughtful, gorgeous, and tough, Graceland acknowledges splits both in South Africa's social fabric as well as in Simon's personal life.
Diamonds on The Souls of Her Shoes, I Know What I Know and You Can Call Me Al" are just a few selections you will hear Rev Tor & Friends perform from this ground breaking album along with a few other select songs from Simons solo career.
Opening the show will be very special guests Belle of The Fall performing as Simon & Girlfunkel. This project comes from a place of loving the music and harmonies of Simon & Garfunkel. First and foremost Belle of the Fall are fans of the music. They set out to honor the songs, yet these arent jukebox versions. Tracy plays upright bass and sings most of the Paul parts, while Julia plays guitar and sings the Art parts. Immediately you will notice that Julia is female and Tracy is the taller of the two, so the idea of creating a tribute show that made you think you were actually seeing Simon & Garfunkel was out of the question. What you can expect is to have some laughs, and hear some beautiful harmonies with the unique twist that Belle of the Fall puts on any music they play.
