In keeping with BEMFs 2019 theme, "Dreams and Madness," acclaimed fortepianist Sylvia Berry offers "Madness, Folly, and Fantasy." This program takes us through an extraordinary journey, from whimsical flights of fancy to bursts of fiery anguish, all expressed exquisitely at the Viennese fortepiano of Mozart and Beethoven's time. Works include Mozart's Modulating Prelude; Variations on "Ah, vous dirai-je, Maman"; Sonata in A minor, K. 310; and Beethoven's Variations on "God Save the King," as well as selections from his Op. 33 Bagatelles and the first movement of the "Moonlight" Sonata. |
