Vanishing Wake - Modal, middle Eastern flavors lyrically flow in concise miniature, giving way to the cool lunar landscape of Ravels atypical, compact Sonata for Violin and Cello (which was dedicated to Debussy). The independent voices transform into dissonant brashness, carving space for Thomas Adès recent string quartet that seems to be left in Debussys wake as it describes a days progress. David Felberg & Ruxandra, Marquardt, violins; Allie Norris, viola; Sally Guenther, cello; Pamela Epple, oboe
