Monthly Youth Improv Class
Do you or someone you know, know a young student looking to try something new and spontaneous.Staircase Improv is the perfect place for young creatives and storytellers to use their imaginations, grow their abilities, and laugh their way to new skills! Improv offers kids and teens alike the chance to joyfully explore their creativity, develop confidence and work collaboratively not to mention, it an awesome way to make friends and have fun! In this interactive workshop, open to children/ youth aged 8 to 18, we will explore the fundamentals of improv comedy in an accepting, FUN, and sure-to-be hilarious environment! Groups will be organized by age, according to the number of participants present on the day of the workshop. No prior theatre experience necessary. All are welcome! Hamilton, ON About the Instructors: Adriana Alfano has been improvising at the Staircase since 2013, and is a founding member of the Hamilton improv comedy troupe, The Understudies. She is an elementary school teacher with the HWDSB, and regularly uses improv techniques to help her students develop active listening, flexible thinking, and language skills. Scott Thompson has been performing Improvised Theatre for almost ten years, and teaching it for four. He is a founding member of Paper St. Theatre Company in Victoria, BC and now teaches regularly with Staircase Improv in Hamilton, ON. He is currentlyteaching the STEPS Fundamentals curriculum at the Staircase.
