Private Lessons & Consultations
Ready for some guidance and feedback on one of your acts? Interested in bringing your act to the stage? Schedule a private lesson and take your performance to the next level!
Private lessons are specifically designed for those who want personal attention and constructive feedback on any aspect of performance: choreography, music, costume, presentation, and more. Not in Minneapolis? Lessons via Skype are welcome!
Come with a blank slate, a finished piece, or whatever you have so far! All are welcome, from new students to seasoned professionals. This incredibly valuable feedback is always presented with honesty and respect. Single sessions are $100, and cost decreases with frequency. Studio rental is $20 additional per hour.
HOURLY SESSIONS:
$100 single ($120 w/rental)
$80 two ($200 w/rentals)
$60 four ($320 w/rentals)
$50 six ($420 w/rentals)
Sessions are based on studio availability
Lessons & consults via Skype are welcome
Sessions must be paid in full when registering
Once payment is received, you will be contacted to discuss scheduling
Session rates are for solos, duets, or groups
Multiple sessions may be split between performers
Sessions are non-transferable between instructors
Sessions expire 12 months after purchase

About the Instructor:
Ophelia Flame is an award winning, internationally renowned instructor with nearly 25 years of experience in the art of the tease, making her the preeminent burlesque teacher of the Twin Cities. But experience isn't only what makes her an excellent teacher. It's her personal connection with students, her ability to communicate her attention to detail with students of all levels, and her passion for guiding people on a path of self discovery in a fun and often ridiculous ways.
Ophelia teaches a well-rounded curriculum of classes at The Playful Peacock ranging from introductory to advanced and specialty workshops such as her wildly popular TEASERCISE, BURLESQUE FITNESS and her acclaimed class that focuses on stage fright, CALM THE %$# DOWN! Miss Flame's specialties are strutting with intention, walking in heels and classic feather fan dances. She is also a life long practitioner of Hatha Yoga in the Himalayan tradition, benefits from three generations of yogic study and is a certified Vinyasa instructor through Corepower Yoga in Minneapolis, MN.
Ophelia is honored to be an instructor and current board member of the Burlycon, the nation's premier educational conference for burlesque artists in Seattle, WA. She has also enjoyed sharing her love of burlesque teaching classes in Chicago, Colorado, Florida, Fargo, St. Louis and Toronto.
THE TWIN CITIES BURLESQUE ACADEMY, (formally known as The Playful Peacock) the first school of its kind in the Twin Cities, was founded by Ophelia Flame and Gina Louise, who have been performing together since 2003 and teaching burlesque workshops since 2005. The belief that there's a bit of showpony in all of us is the drive behind their mission: to teach burlesque technique, performance, and history while encouraging self-expression and body confidence, welcoming students of all levels and backgrounds.
