Award-winning theatre company ARC is pleased to present the North American premiere of HUMAN ANIMALS, a timely and provocative play about humankinds precarious place within the natural world, by one of the UKs most exciting young female dramatists Stef Smith. Suspense-filled, enigmatic, and darkly comic, HUMAN ANIMALS will be performed in the newly launched East End Arts Space housed in the historic St. Matthews Clubhouse, fittingly located on the eastern edge of Riverdale Park. With HUMAN ANIMALS, ARC revisits the fertile territory of dystopian near-futures that have become a company signature (last successfully explored in their acclaimed production of POMONA). Instead of considering the ongoing extinction of species, Smiths bracing play imagines an overcrowded city in which nature is getting out of control. The mice are scratching between walls, the pigeons are diseased, and the foxes are beginning to rule the streets. The problem is growing. It's contagious. And though no one seems to know what started this crisis, the city makes it clear that it must be stopped at all costs.
Directed by ARC Artistic Producer Christopher Stanton, the cast includes ARC resident artists Aviva Armour-Ostroff, Deborah Drakeford, Carlos González-Vío, Ryan Hollyman, Andre Sills, and Arlen Aguayo Stewart. Acclaimed designers Nick Blais and Jackie Chau will help bring this strange world to life.

ABOUT ARC's PAY-WHAT-CAN-AFFORD TICKET PRICING...
One of our central values here at ARC is creating work that is innovative, challenging, entertaining and as widely accessible as possible. That means eliminating barriers to access, including high ticket prices.
The Pay-What-You-Can-Afford pricing tiers we are using with Human Animals have been implemented with the intention of meeting the goal of making the show affordable for the whole community, regardless of any one persons personal income level.
Seating is General Admission. However, ticket prices are set to act as a sort of sliding scale based on what any one ticket buyer finds fair and affordable.
For example, as someone who is a student, or unemployed, or under-employed, you might find an industry-average $35 theatre ticket difficult to bear. We want to create an opportunity for theatre-lovers in those circumstances the to see the show - and thats why we make a limited amount of $5 tickets available to every performance. (We dont need any proof or identification" for any price level. No questions asked.)
With the $20, $30, and $50 price levels, it is equally up to the ticket buyer to set their own price. The price you choose would take in to account both your personal circumstances, and your wishes to support an outstanding, feisty little indie theatre company that consistently punches above its weight. Its completely up to you.
