The Responsible Application of Data Analytics
As data science begins to be applied in business and government, questions are being asked, by auditors, executives and Board Directors. They want to be satisfied that negative impacts have been recognised and mitigated, and that risks have been managed.
This presentation reports on the outcomes of a project to establish 'Guidelines for Responsible Data Analytics', comprising a checklist of Do's and Don'ts. These are then mapped onto a business process model, to identify the appropriate point at which each of the checks is most usefully performed.
Our presenter:
Roger Clarke is a consultant in strategic and policy aspects of advanced information technologies. He is also a Visiting Professor in Computer Science at ANU, and in cyberspace law at the University of NSW, and a Fellow of the ACS and of the international Association for Information Systems. He has also spent many years on the Board of the Australian Privacy Foundation, and is Company Secretary of the Internet Society of Australia.
