Local singer/songwriter Lyn Sawicki is an accomplished songsmith who delivers hard-earned wisdom with earthy emotion. Her songs are good companions for traversing what must be left behind to reach a new life-affirming place. She spins songs like she turns pottery, into practical vessels artfully crafted to carry nourishment for the soul. Lyns melodic and versatile convergence of folk, acoustic and indie originality provide the texture for a collection of lyrical stories about the unfolding of the human heart, and the courage it takes to reclaim lost, neglected or dormant parts of ourselves in the pursuit of completion.
Mike Iott is a long-time singer/songwiter from the greater Lansing area. Formerly preforming and recording as Medicine Crow, he has recently jettisoned that stage name begun using his given name. His original music tends toward the topical rather than the romantic and he writes and sings about all of those "touchy subjects" that we are told to avoid when in polite company.
In the 1980's Mike performed with harmonica virtuoso Bill Price and as half of the duo The Sentinels with bass player Don Diamond. In the 1990's he sojourned with the Last Hippy Band and played dates throughout Michigan and the mid-west. Starting in 2001 he performed solo as Medicine Crow, usually accompanied by his good friend and co-conspirator John Overholt (aka: "Ghetto Gas John"). He produced four solo studio albums and two collaborative works with Dennis Preston, Chara Love and Eric Blades. None of these are currently in print.
