Woke 2.0 : An Arts & Social Justice Problem Solving Lab So youve read the books, had the conversations, you consider yourself to be a bit woke or at least youre trying to be. And then it happens, the moment when you can intervene, when you want to hire a d/Deaf performer, you want to be inclusive and you dont have all the skills or tools you need. Lets acknowledge that no one person has the answers, but maybe together we can all learn to do better. Lets move past the knowledge phase into action.
Lets learn how to be brave together and deepen our practises to become truly inclusive, affirmative and joyful. Join Generator, The Storefront Theatre, Artscape Youngplace, and Cahoots Theatre as we explore and crowdsource ideas for a better and more inclusive live performance industry with practical ideas for the indie artist.

Post Me Too, we in the live performance community have some reckoning to to do. Did you know that as an independent producer of the performing arts or you operate a space, its actually your legal responsibility to have an anti harassment policy. So now you know, but to quote GI Joe, knowing is half the battle. Bring your draft or current policy, bring your questions, bring your ideas and lets jam on how we can create a safe(r) space so our community can thrive.
This workshop is open to any independent producer in the live performance community, as well as those who rent out spaces for performances and rehearsal. Please bring your current or draft policy, 3 biggest sticky points or issues and your creative/problem solving spirit. This will be work through session, hands on session. This workshop will be curated by Sedina Fiati (Managing Producer, The Storefront Theatre) and Kristina Lemieux (Executive Director, Generator)

So you want to work with trans, gender non conforming and gender non binary artists in live performance. Where are they? What are best practises to set everyone up for success? How can we use better language and deepen our understanding? Lets have a chat, cis folks, trans folks and gender non conforming folks, gender non binary folks, do some exploring together. Release the gender binary and discover a new and better world. This workshop will be facilitated by Kit Boulter (Performer & Creator) and Sedina Fiati (Managing Producer of The Storefront Theatre).
This workshop is open to any member of the live performance community. We especially encourage producers, writers, choreographers, creators and directors to attend.
