SunBurn, New Mexico's regional Burning Man event, will be held for its third year at the exciting Eaves Movie Ranch outside of Santa Fe! This year we will open the gate at noon on July 5th and conclude at noon on July 8th. Join us for a cultural movement centered around art, community, fire, and embracing Burning Man's 10 Principles, along with our 11th adopted Principle, Gratitude. Our theme this year is "The Sun is Flat Too!" We hope to encourage you to riff on space, conspiracy theory, the improbable, the impossible, the weird, and beyond. Anything is possible; expect anything to happen. The event is a village built by participant contribution to the experiment of radical self expression and do-ocracy. There is no corporate sponsorship or provided entertainment. What happens here is up to you! You are entering a decommidified space that values who you are, not what you have. You can collaborate, be inclusive, be creative, and be connective with your fellow SunBurners and also the world around you. Sunburn continues to be a hard-won expression of creative and loving New Mexicans and visitors from afar. We welcome all players, new and old.
Note: SunBurn is not a rave. SunBurn is an interactive community for artists, performers, and musicians, all participants, creating both large and small scale art on private land.
Please note: We will be under a burn ban, and participants and organizers will adhere to all local and State fire ordinances. There will be no hard fuel, ember-producing fires, campfires, or fireworks. Smoking may only take place within an enclosed vehicle. The permanent movie set structure on the property is NOT for smoking. Spark arrests on generators will be required, as well as safe storage for fuel (bins, kiddie pools, etc.).

As a ticket holder and/or participant at SunBurn, you agree to all the conditions as listed on nmsunburn.com and below within this disclaimer in order to gain entry to the property and the SunBurn event. You agree that you are willingly entering this property and event at your own risk; that in order to gain access and attend this event that you will abide by the conditions, policies, guidelines, and rules set forth herein and subject to change at any point prior to the event. By purchasing a ticket and/or attending SunBurn you KNOWINGLY AND VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISK OF PROPERTY LOSS, PERSONAL INJURY, SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH, WHICH MAY OCCUR BY ATTENDING THE 2018 SUNBURN EVENT, AND HEREBY FOREVER RELEASE, DISCHARGE AND HOLD NMBURNERS LLC, NMSPF90 LLC, THE LANDOWNER AND ALL VOLUNTEERS HARMLESS FROM ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM SUCH RISK, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF NM BURNERS LLC OR BY THIRD PARTIES, AND ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION.
The nature of this event, the property, the unique interactive art, the rapidly changing weather conditions, presence of wild or venomous creatures that inhabit the area. The site may contain natural or man-made hazards. These may cause serious personal injury or death. You agree to release the event producers, property owners, staff, rangers, and organizers from any liability or responsibility should you be injured, sustain property damage or die while attending this event. This Release of Liability agreement includes you releasing us from any and all claims from surviving family or heirs. You agree that you will sign a physical Release of Liability agreement prior to entry.
SunBurn is a private event on private property and is not open to the general public. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at least 21 years of age at check-in who can provide documentation to support their guardianship status. The price of youths 13 and under is $0, however you must still obtain a ticket for all children under 18 so that we may get an accurate head count for the event.
All will-call changes may be submitted to enchantmentburntix@gmail.com. Please submit all ticket changes by Sunday July 1st.
We reserve the right to deny entry to any person or party, or to revoke permitted access by any person or party to the venue/property at any time and for any reason.
You agree that you are 100% responsible for your camp, your personal well being, and your personal property at all times. There is no water, food, or fuel within several miles of this property. The new property is much more open than our previous location in the Jemez. There is no power available outside of the movie set, which will be designated for certain things by the event organizers. You must come prepared with food, water, shelter, shade, warm clothing, bedding, and anything else you may need to survive during this event. You must pack all of it out with you and dispose of it in proper receptacles (random dumpsters are not proper receptacles and they make the neighbors upset, and when neighbors get upset, our event is at risk.)
Animal Policy: No dogs are allowed. The new property and event is entirely too hot and not suitable to pets. Please leave them at home.
- CONSENT: Personal Boundaries must be respected at all times. Only Yes means Yes, No means No, and anything else in-betweenis not Yes. Ask first.
- Photographic & Video Consent - Both fall into the same Consent category. Permission must be given BEFORE taking pictures of participants, especially if they are performing. Always ASK. You agree that all images video and filmmaking are for Personal Use Only (this doesn't mean Facebook!). No commercial use of images allowed without a signed written agreement from the event organizers and the people shown in the images.
- This is a decommodified event. Advertising or offering any items or services for sale is prohibited.
- This is a Leave No Trace event. Pack it in, Pack it out. Only human waste goes in the portopotties. Leave NO Trace.
All policies will be emailed to participants prior to the event, will be posted on the webpage, and will be available to read at the Gate on entry. Should you transfer a ticket in any way to a new ticket holder, that new ticket holder automatically assumes all of the terms and conditions herein.
