OUR HOUSE: THE CAPITOL PLAY PROJECT
When a wild card new Governor is elected, the regular order on the state Capitol campus is thrown into chaos. While a chorus of activists, legislators, lobbyists, civil servants, and tour guides attempt to get their way, an idealistic new employee finds herself at the center of an unexpected controversy. Misunderstandings and mistaken identity lead to a crash course in the realities that both constrain and inspire the men and women who have devoted themselves to public service (inside a building brimming with idealism, cynicism, absurdity, significance, and powerplus more than a few old ghosts who have something to say).

Co-written and directed by Alan Berks and Leah Cooper from the words of the Capitol community, Our House: The Capitol Play Project will feature original music by Becky Dale, choreography by Leah Nelson, sound design by Peter Morrow, light design by Heidi Eckwall, props by Abbee Warmboe, costume design by Andrea Gross, and technical direction by Zeb Hults.

Performers include Megan Anderson, Ginger Commodore, Ann Daly, Andy Dawkins, Gabrielle Dominique, Rachel English, Cindy Farrell, Pedro Fonseca, Frank Kohlasch, Ariel Leaf, Margie OLoughlin, Alex Pouliot, Oogie Pushetonequa, Michael Quadrozzi, Ned Rousmaniere, Mark Shepard, Adam Whisner, and David Zanderwho are current and former Capitol employees, advocates, activists, and professional Twin Cities performers.

Wonderlust has been developing the Capitol Play Project since 2014. As with all our plays the show reflects a full spectrum of community perspectives. Contributors span ages from 20 to 80, and include voices from Minnesotans of Native American, Latino, and African heritage,  businessmen, advocates, activists, lobbyists, former and current legislators, members of the Governors staff, non-partisan staff in the office of procurement, tour guides, and more.
