"Santa Songs: A Christmas Cabaret," Dan Johnson's one man show, was originally developed in association with Premier Arts in Elkhart, Indiana, in 2011. The 2012 edition "Carols and Kris Kringle" played in Glenview, IL at Terra Sounds Recital hall and Nappanee, IN at the Round Barn Theater. The 2013 edition premiered at the 2nd Unitarian Church in Chicago, IL in December 2014.
The 2014 edition of "Santa Songs" is a concert of holiday music celebrating Santa traditions featuring original music by New York City composer Paul Johnson as well as traditional favorites such as "Toyland" by Victor Herbert and "Here Comes Santa Claus" by Gene Autry together with contemporary songs from stage and screen. A program of family friendly entertainment best for adults and children over 12 starring Daniel T. Johnson with music director Mark Burnell with Stage Direction by Matthew Ellenwood.
Daniel is a frequent interpreter of holiday material having appeared many times as Santa professionally and for charity. His acting has been featured in "A Christmas Carol" and "Miracle on 34th St." Daniel is a veteran musical theatre performer of material from Gilbert and Sullivan to Meredith Willson.
Mark Burnell is an accomplished pianist/vocalist/arranger and one of Chicago's most sought after musicians, working with a wide array of talent.
Matthew Ellenwood is a vocal director active in the Chicago Cabaret Community. He serves as Artistic Director of Terra Mysterium Performance Troupe.
