UNION/PINE will welcome a fresh team of collaborators for their chef + speaker dinner series 'Association' on Sunday May 18th. What happens when a chef, a farmer, and a manufacturer who love to adventure walk into a bar? 40 lucky guests will find out during this evening exploration.
The incredibly talented alum of Woodsman Tavern, Olympic Provisions, and Clyde Common, Jason Barwikowski, will be preparing a coursed meal featuring hand-picked ingredients from Billy Tosheff's historic Stargazer Farm, while impassioned ambassador of ADX and Portland Made, Kelley Roy will take the stage.
Jason has notoriously partnered with renowned cocktail creator Evan Zimmerman in many a venture, so it seems appropriate that he be the man behind the drinks on this occasion. Association will serve as a launch for Evan's latest venture - a keg cocktail company he is forming with his fiance Megan, that they have dubbed North+Lands.
Kelley, known for her dedication to the creative community and her advocacy for supporting the local economy, will talk to the exclusive group of diners about the importance of human interaction as the foundation for building personal and economic strength. Ms Roy continues to pull from her fold of fast friends by inviting legendary dessert-maker Kristen D. Murray of MÅURICE Luncheonette, and wines from Olga and Barnaby Tuttle of Teutonic Wine.
Classic Vintage Rentals will be providing their gorgeous furnishings for the occasion, while the special decor items will be supplied by members of various Portland-based collectives. Caravan Pacific of The Makery, known for their statement lamps, will be debuting their new tableware accessories, and Bryan Jablonski, architectural fabricator at Bullseye glass and resident glassblower on Stargazer Farm, will showcase his skills with some select custom wares. Also from Stargazer Farm will come fresh plants and flowers, and the handshakes, cheers, and laughs will be captured by photographer and videographer Will Nelson of MegaMouth.
As an enticing bonus in line with the idea of supporting craftsman and community, all the selections possible will actually be available for purchase at the dinner, so plan to leave having been an accessory to the cause yourself.
