BlabberMouthATL Choreographer Showcase
We're back at it again!
Atlanta, GA This fall, Atlanta's newest dance movement and one of Atlanta's most prestigious institutions will once again team up to host a choreographer showcase on December 6th.
The event, open to the public, is the second showcase hosted by BlabberMouthATL. This showcase emphasizes the focal point of BlabberMouthATL on developing dance makers and starting conversations about dance. As part of a three-month process-based project, the showcase helps dance makers develop their aesthetics, creation process, interaction within the local dance community, knowledge of dance resources, and professionalism. Past BMATL choreographers include: Mallory Baxley, Caitlin McCormack, Deandra Jefferson, Christopher McIntosh, Rob Myers, Meg Gibbs, Mohammad Zaidi.
T. Lang, Assistant Dance Professor at Spelman and Founder/Director of T. Lang Dance, is also sponsoring the event, which will showcase the work of the several budding choreographers. "By hosting a choreographer showcase, Atlanta gets a chance to discover the density of its creative pool, as well as, inspire great talents to come forward and show themselves," says BMATL Founder Toi Pearson.
BMATL focuses on the local emerging choreographer, desiring to expose the richness of creative movement in Atlanta and to spark conversations about dance. "There are so many budding artists who need mentorship, opportunity, community and exposure. BMATL offers these, because I am all about the underdogthe diamond in the rough," Pearson says.
