Giuliani's Friends : Piano and Guitar Duo Recital
The program features piano and guitar work, both solo and as duos, by Mauro Giuliani and his friends. In Giuliani's compositions he draws upon works of his colleagues, using melodic material and stylistic aspects, sometimes collaborating (as in the case of the Grand Potpourri National, where Hummel added a full piano part).

ROBERT BEKKERS Robert has been performing and teaching classical guitar throughout his extensive career. He earned a Bachelor's and master's at the "Conservatorium van Maastricht" (Netherlands) and came to Boston in 2011, where he is a doctoral candidate studying with the exceptional artist Eliot Fisk. He participated in masterclasses given by many internationally renowned artists including Pepe Romero, Hubert Käppel, David Russell, Abel Carlevaro and Alexander Frauchi.
Robert performs regularly as a soloist or in collaboration with piano, violin, flute and voice in programs ranging from classical opera arias to contemporary compositions, such as the ones dedicated to his exclusive piano guitar duo. His aim is to reach out and connect to audiences, spreading the awareness and appreciation of excellent music, while supporting the community. Robert currently is a faculty member at the South Shore Conservatory and also teaches in the South Shore and Metrowest area.
ELLYSES KUAN A native Hong Kong pianist who started taking piano lesson at the age of three, Ellyses received a full scholarship for her Master Degree, studying Piano Performance with Barry Snyder at the Eastman School of Music. She was selected to represent Hong Kong and attended the International Kirishima Music Festival in Japan. Among her other major teachers and mentors include Dr. Siu-Wan Chair Fang, Malcolm Bilson, Dang Thai Son and Paul Odette.
Ellyses collaborates with artists from all over the world and she also performs as a soloist. She is passionate about Baroque and Classical Performance Practices and she strives to bring authentic music interpretation to her audiences. Ellyses is currently the founder and the music director of a local music school in the south shore area, EKSTUDIO.
