Sat, Mar 10th, 6:45pm Fiddle Circle, 8-10pm Concert Steve & Viv Ruskin with violinist Blaine Dunaway

The trio combines their experience into performances that keep their audiences thoroughly entertained with their eclectic sets for all ages. Blaine will 'lead' an informal fiddle gathering before the concert as he is a master player as well as teacher. But just for fun~!

Steve & Viv Ruskin are a multi-genre duo performing ballads to blues, celtic to contemporary, rockabilly to reggae, Jazz to originals and a even a dash of Latin. Steve is a dynamite piano and keyboard player with harmonica. He adds harmonies to Vivs strong and versatile lead vocals and she adds guitar to the instrumental mix. As a trio, they are joined by Blaine Dunaway; violinist extraordinaire and Chincello and horn player.

Blaine Dunaway is a life musician with a degree and a lifetime of professional music experience from playing and running big bands and orchestras, to TV show bands and recording experience, both as a session player, and engineer, and a host of jazz, world music, blues, R and B, folk, country, and pop bands, and string quartets as well.

A violinist extraordinaire, he is also an accomplished Chincello and horn player.

He has received two major awards for writing, and is currently living in the Comox Valley, teaching and performing with as many musicians and genres as are available in the valley, occasionally venturing to Victoria or Vancouver for gigs and recording.
