Chocolate Bar Session: What's in Your Chocolate?
Come out to the farm and learn about where we make our truffles and, lesser known, single origin chocolate bars.
Did you know chocolate is a fermented food? What ingredients should you look for in your chocolate? Ever eaten cacao beans? What does a cacao pod look like and how does it grow?
We source our beans carefully, roast them, and turn them in to single origin bars. Each country provides different flavor profiles in the cacao beans.
You will taste cacao beans, un-roasted and roasted, from different countries. Then we'll taste finished chocolate bars and test your "chocolate" meter to see if you can pick out the "good stuff.". You will learn that chocolate made with cacao beans and simple ingredients create a bar much different than the mass-produced ones you buy in stores.
Space is limited so don't delay! Weather permitting, we will start with a tour of the farm, then move on to the tasting either on our farm hill with a beautiful view or in our 1901 farm building.
Warning: Chocolate Euphoria may occur as a result of this event!
