James Lord, founder of Surfacedesign Inc., will discuss the firms diverse portfolio of award-winning landscapes. James will review his personal ethos of balancing culture, ecology, and design vision with fiscal realities to create poetic spaces and experiences.

Before co-founding Surfacedesign, Inc., James worked at the offices of Peter Walker and Partners, Martha Schwartz Partners and Hargreaves Associates.
His stewardship of the firms design practice has produced a wide range of award-winning projects for Surfacedesign.
James innovative approach to the firms projects in New Zealand has established Surfacedesign as a leader in urban design and sustainable landscape architecture in that country.
James received his MLA at Harvards Graduate School of Design and his BA at the University of Southern California. He has served on the Harvard Alumni Council for the past 8 years. |
