Reviving Hope and Home: An Event to Celebrate the Resilience of Refugee Families
Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) Canada Presents: Reviving Hope and Home
An Event to Celebrate the Resilience of Refugee Families
We are now witnessing an unprecedented 65.3 million people from around the world being forced from their homes. Among them are nearly 21.3 million refugees, over half of whom are under the age of 18. Canada has welcomed 30,000 refugees in the last year. HIPPY Canada is perfectly positioned to help these families as they integrate into Canadian society and their children into schools.
Evening Program
Our evening program will provide participants with an opportunity to experience the day-to-day struggles of a refugee by viewing the film Clouds over Sidra. The movie tells the story of life inside a refugee camp in Jordan through the eyes of a twelve year old girl named Sidra. This will be followed by a panel presentation of distinguished Canadian refugee and immigration experts.
