Heart of Winter - Jessica Sherman
Kate, a British grade school teacher, walks out on her partner in the middle of a November night. This song cycle - inspired by Schubert's "Winterreise" - follows her through the dark winter of her heartbreak, and into the spring where everything seems possible again.
Jessica Sherman - a seasoned actor and singer, based in London for the past 13 years, with training from the University of Western Ontario and Central School of Speech and Drama. Performance credits include Catherine in "The Stationmaster," Elsa Schraeder and Sister Berthe in "The Sound of Music" and Harley Quinn in "Batman Live". Toronto credits include Michael Rubinoff's critically acclaimed production of "Side by Side by Sondheim," Helena in "Look Back in Anger" and a sold-out solo show at the LOT, "Secrets from London's Underground" which I reprised at the Annex Live under the title "Same Songs, Different Show".
