St. Louis, MO: Opening its fifth season, R-S Theatrics presents the St. Louis premiere of Mr. Burns: a post-electric play, to be staged at the Ivory Theatre, 7620 Michigan Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63111. Performances will run September 4 - 20, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 7pm.

Mr. Burns: a post-electric play (written by Anne Washburn with music by Michael Friedman and lyrics by Anne Washburn) tells the story of the perseverance of art and storytelling. After the end of all that they knew, a group of survivors bond over their love of The Simpsons' episode "Cape Feare", making the story their own, and ultimately fashioning the episode into a live performance that brings hope to other survivors in a fallen world. Washburn's play reminds us that storytelling is adaptive, dynamic, and has always been a part of human culture. When we have nothing left, we will always find commonly held art and stories in order to communicate and define ourselves and the world around us.

Directed by: Christina Rios
Musically directed by: Leah Luciano
