Who We Are: Springfield Urban Agriculture Coalition promotes healthy lifestyles and environments through hands-on education about production and consumption of locally produced, natural, healthy foods.
Our Projects: The DIRT (Dig In R-Twelve) Project is a program that designs, installs, and manages schoolyard gardens for educational use within the Springfield R-12 Public School District. As an extension of the classroom with specially developed curriculum, these gardens give students a chance for hands-on learning. Introducing healthy habits to fight childhood obesity, children learn where food comes from, how plants grow, and the importance of eating responsibly for themselves and the plant.
Ozarks CRAFT (Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training) Intern Program is a cooperative effort of area farms organized to enhance educational opportunities for farm apprentices. CRAFT seeks to train the next generation of organic, biodynamic, and sustainable farmers.
