The GEORGIA INNOCENCE PROJECT (GIP)  is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals who have been convicted of crimes they did not commit. The Project works to secure post-conviction DNA testing for Georgia and Alabama inmates where DNA analysis could prove guilt or innocence and adequate DNA testing was not available at trial.

See some of Atlanta's top actors come together for a one night event to raise monies for the Georgia Innocence Project.  Watch "The Exonerated" live on stage on Monday, June 1st.  
Culled from interviews, letters, transcripts and case files"The Exonerated" tells the true stories of six wrongfully convicted survivors of death row in their own words. Written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen.  Directed by Susan G. Reid and starring (in alphabetical order):

After the show, Clarence Harrison will share his story of being imprisoned for 17 years  for a crime he did not commit. With the help of the Georgia Innocence Project, he was exonerated. In addition, Eddie James Lowery tells his story of his arrest at 22, his 10 year imprisonment and finally his exoneration after 11 years with the assistance of the Innocence Project in NY.

Aimee Maxwell, the Executive Director of The Georgia Innocence Project will share what they are doing to help the wrongfully convicted.
