Madan Oak "Wings on Strings"
Wings on Strings Presenting solo Indian classical music ragas in traditional format followed by lighter compositions on Sitar by Dr. Prasad Joglekar. intermission - 15 minutes Concluding the evening with enchanting Santoor classical raga recital by Madan Oak followed by folk music composition. Both artists accompanied on Tabla by Shri. Satish Tare.
Dr. Prasad Joglekar is a disciple of legendary Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan, follower of Pandit Partha Chatterjee and mentored by Ustad Shahid Parvez. He is Phd.D. in Computer Engineering and has performed in many concerts in US, Canada & India. Shri. Satish Tare holds a Diploma in Music from Mumbai University and is a disciple of his father Late. Shri. Madhav Tare, and various Tabla Maestroes like Pt. Arvind Mulgaonkar, Pt. Vibhav Nageshkar, Shri Vivek Joshi. Currently he is taking advanced training from the world renowned Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri. Madan Oak is an established Santoor Maestro, disciple of Padmavibhushan Pt. Shivkumar Sharma. Recipient of 1986 All India Radio Best Instrumentalist award, he has given concerts all over the world. By Profession an IT consultant, a gifted vocalist, promoter of Indian classical music and runs his own school of Music.
