The Art and Artistry of Carmen Letelier
Musica Sacra Cantorum celebrates the art and artistry of one of its cherished members: Carmen Letelier. Join us from 2 - 6 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2015 for a wine and cheese reception and exhibition of Carmen's works.
Born in Santiago, Chile, Carmen earned her Bachelor degree in Design from the Universidad Catolica (Catholic University).
Carmen came to the United States in 1972. A mother of two, and working full time in the airline industry, she had little time to dedicate to her passion of painting. After retiring, Carmen decided it was time to start again, so in Northern Virginia she took up the brush and studied at the Loudoun Academy for the Arts where she painted her favorite subject - landscapes in oils and acrylics. Her work has been displayed in several small galleries in Northern Virginia.
Shortly after moving to Florida, she joined the Art Center Manatee and worked with Roy Nichols. Carmen now paints outdoors with Plein Air Suncoast enjoying the beauty of the sea shore, the Florida landscape and other regions where she travels. Carmen feels that beauty and its appreciation greatly enhances people's lives.
